Traveling to Scotland

There is a lovely B&B in the village of Fairlie, Scotland, that I personally think was the perfect place to stay while attending my very first Clan Hunter Gathering in 2014. It is close to Hunterston Castle and West Kilbride.

Before I left the US I knew I was going to love, Ailsa. She was so helpful in answering all of my questions and her B&B was perfect. Our room was so comfortable, a private bath with a hot water bottle, which I thought was just right for my cold feet after walking around Hunterston Estate in a drizzle of rain. There was a little tea table and a wonderful selection of teas, and the next morning our breakfast was so Scottish. My note in my travel journal was “a lovely cozy B&B”.

This next time I won’t be staying at Ferry Row because of my group tour to the Clan Hunter Gathering in 2017, but I will stay there in the years to come.
